Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne at Murat Theatre

Why see Jackson Browne?

On tour

For some, Jackson Browne is a definitive voice of the sun-soaked, mellow Southern California vibe that emanated from Laurel Canyon and spread far beyond in the mid-60s and 70s.

When his debut album came out in 1972, the world got to hear his exceptional talents. His moving, literate songs such as haunting 'These Days', and the mind-blowing ' Running on Empty' and 'Doctor My eyes' have become part of the pop culture map, inspiring the generation to come, along with peers Crosby Stills and Nash, Carole King and James Taylor.

He began his career at 16, playing legendary folk clubs, like the Troubador, before taking a trip to Greenwich Village, New York City where his raw talent was noticed and he became, at 17, a staff writer for Electra Records, where he wrote for artists such as Tim Buckley, Nico and The Velvet Underground. He was called "new face to look for" by Rolling Stone magazine, and soon after before released the sublime 'Jackson Browne' with Geffen Records and gaining national, and worldwide acclaim.

This year, you can catch Browne in New York as he brings his band to the Beacon Theatre for four nights only! With a changing setlist, this is a not to be missed opportunity for Browne aficionados.

On top of his game , hasn't lost a thing

Fantastic , totally awesome. .His voice sounded great seasoned with age , his band extremely tight , slightly different arrangements on some older songs , roughly 2 hours 35 minutes of playing time I've probably seen him at least 15 times over the years , all of them great , but this one sticks out for , especially from a set list standpoint . To anyone who's never seen him , young or old I highly recommend , Keep rocking Jackson😎 ... Read more

He Never Disappoints!

Although the average age of JB's audience grows, the impact of his music is legendary for us "old timers" - his lyrics speak to our youth, young adulthood, middle age and beyond. He is a Poet Extraordinaire and his voice is still strong and his guitar/piano work is beyond compare. Amazing band with him and thank you, Jackson, for giving me another concert to remember and thank you for writing "Take It Easy" - we still miss Glenn Frey! ... Read more

Another Great J. Browne Concert

This is my fifth time seeing Jackson Browne (JB) over the last 44 years and it was another fantastic show. The Palace Theatre was a great venue and JB's voice, and band filled the venue with great music. I've been to an acoustic show where the audience shouted requests and JB did the song. Unfortunately, now a vocal group of folks feel that every concert should be shouted requests instead of a planned and rehearsed setlist. The setlist was a great blend of classics (For a Dancer, Dr My Eyes, Running on Empty, Your Bright Baby Blues) some surprises (Love Needs a Heart, Something Fine, Farther On) and some great newer stuff also (Barricades of Heaven, Until Justice is Real). He played for almost three hours and my only regret is that he couldn't play for three more! ... Read more
