I am so hoarse! How can one say one band was better than the other?!! THEY BOTH BLEW THE ROOF OFF. Man that was fun. The Chicago brass, they are the best in history!

CHICAGO AND DOOBIES BLOW THE ROOF OFF!!
What a thrill to see two of the greatest rock bands of all time. The
Doobies song selection was spot on (even though only one Michael
McDonald era song was in the set), and displayed incredible
musicianship. Pat and Tommy still sound great. Their voices have
held up well over the years. McFee may have been the most
versatile guy on the stage, playing guitar, harp, violin and vocals.
Wow!! is all I can say!!
Chicago clearly had a tough act to follow, but were up to the task,
delving deep into their catalog, playing several songs that may not
have been familiar to the casual fan (e.g. Introduction, Wake Up
Sunshine, I'm a Man, and the entire "Ballet for a Girl From
Buchanan" multi-movement piece), but were thrilling to the ardent
fan's ears. The bands complement each other very well, and it was
clear the audience was thrilled with both performances.
The PNC Charlotte venue was great. Get there early, as traffic is not
managed as well as PNC/Raleigh.

DOOBIES AND CHICAGO PACKED CYNTHIA WOODS
Doobies were great, but with only two original members, the sound was different.
Chicago was unbelievable. After 50 years, these guys can still blow the roof off the
dump. And the "younger" members covered the parts of original members flawlessly.
Especially impressive was the solo work by the original horn players, killin' it in the 70's.

WHOA, STAND UP AND BE ENTERTAINED!
The Doobie Brothers only get better and better each time I see them. There's no way anyone could stay
seated! Great musicians, great voices, a great show!!! Then there's Chicago. I've seen them so many times
and never want the show to end. As I rushed to the stage toward the end of their performance, I got my love,
James Pankow, to walk up to me with his arms out and fingers dancing all over the place to grab my hands as
I told him I love him. So damn cool! Made MY night. Rock on guys!!!!!

DOOBIE BROTHERS CHICAGO BOSTON, MA
Once again, the Doobie Brothers rocked the place from start to finish, I wish they could
have played longer. Chicago, is very good, but a few slow moments during their long set
quieted the crowd down. The new lead singer / bass player was good, but tried to hard
to sound like the previous members. Left before last song "25 or 6 to 4"
I was disappointed that the two bands did not finish the night sharing the stage, as they
have in the past. I'm sure I'll be back to see them next year, regardless of the billing.

CHICAGO-DOOBIE BROTHERS IN CHICAGO
Two great groups still playing after all these
years. The Doobies walked on stage with no
introduction and rocked the house. Their
rendition of Long Train Runnin' was
sensational in every way. Chicago had their
hometown fans on their feet for the whole
concert with both original and newer members
sounding terrific. Their fantastic performance
of Ballet for a girl in Buchannon gave long
time fans a thrill. Chicago may be a little older
now but they still sound great and the crowd
was on their feet for the whole concert. Great
family show and the seating and atmosphere
was good as well.

CHICAGO AND THE DOOBIE BROTHERS
THE DOOBIE BROTHERS ROCKED FOR THE FANS LAST NIGHT AND IT WAS THE FIRST
TIME I HAD SEEN THEM, THEY WERE GREAT AND CHICAGO WAS AWSOME, I HAVE SEEN
THEM THREE TIMES AND THEY ARE BETTER EACH TIME. GREAT NIGHT OF LISTENING TO
GREAT MUSIC LOVED THE VENUE, GETTING OUT OF THE CONCERT WITH TRAFFIC WAS
NOT THAT GREAT BUT HAD A GREAT TIME
Kevin from Denver, Colorado
AGREE DOOBIES SHOULD HAVE HEADLINED
The Doobies came out rocking and pretty much stole the show. Most play multiple
instruments at a virtuoso level. 3 can play lead guitar and do. Lead singer changes
throughout a song and they may be better musicians than they used to be.
Chicago was also very good, but should have opened stronger with a few upbeat hits
and closed strong also. We left before the last song as this concert was pretty tiring and
one of our party over-served herself.

DOOBIES GREAT CHICAGO SOSO
The first time I saw these two together was in
1974 at Roosevelt stadium in Jersey City. That
was amazing. Since I've seen Chicago in
Phoenix and that show was also amazing. But
I have to be fair. The show last night was not
amazing. To me they changed the format of
their songs and although the horns make
every song great, outside of that it was a
mess. The new guy wasn't up to the
standards Chicago has always kept. He was
pitchy at best and sqeeky sounding. They
could've did a better job in a replacement. I
also do not understand why they changed the
arrangement of some of their iconic
songs???? The acoustic arrangement would
have worked with someone that could keep a
tune. Again as usual the horns were the show
with the drums. I have to give the night to the
Dubbie Bros. I have forgotten how great they
are. They only played for 1 hr 10 min and I
wanted another 2 hrs. They are a great band
a great sounding band that will go on as long
as time will allow. It was well worth the
money.

THE DOOBIE BROTHERS SHOULD HAVE HEADLINED
Overall the show was great, but I only gave 3 stars because Chicago didn't earn any. Bottom line
here,....The Doobie Brothers ROCKED a packed FORUM and Chicago put everyone to sleep. When
the Doobie's were on stage, everyone was out of thier seats. When Chicago came out, everyone was
sitting and there was simpley no energy. Chicago, although very polished, were not attacking thier
instruments. It technically sounded great, but there was somthing missing. Horn players were
wearing blazers and ties with the exception of the super high energy trombone player who was
killing it. The first 10 minutes of Chicago was the deathnail. They spent so much time trumpeting in
thier arrival, they were not aware that the put the audience to sleep at the same time.
