An Upbeat Portrait of Humanity

The Tony Award-winning one-woman Broadway show Bridge and Tunnel rounds off the Indiana Repertory Theatre's 2015/16 season with a message of hope. Sarah Jones' groundbreaking play features the actress taking on a variety of roles that represent the diverse immigrant community of the boroughs outside of Manhattan. Filled with humor and positivity, Jones' exploration of the differences that bring us together is heartwarming and refreshing.

Comprised of a series of monologues, the play takes the form of an open-mic poetry reading. Characters of different ethnicity, gender and age take the stage and share pieces of their lives in a vibrant city. Suddenly the strangers don't seem so strange at all as they reflect what it means to be human in the little details of their existence.
